Porsche driver injured after plank of wood crashes through windscreen on Melbourne’s Citylink

A Porsche driver has been left with a black eye after a huge plank of wood crashed through his windscreen on an 80km/h Melbourne freeway.

The 71-year-old driver and his 70-year-old female passenger, both from Malvern, were in their Porsche Macan SUV while driving on the CityLink on September 20 at 10am.

As they reached a speed of 80km/h between Brunswick and Moreland Roads, a massive object came crashing into their windscreen.

The wood struck the driver and he was left with a black eye. Credit: Victoria PoliceIt was a huge plank of wood, which caused extensive damage to the bonnet before becoming wedged in the glass on the driver’s side.

Anyone who was on the CityLink in the area at the time and who might have dashcam footage of the incident ia urged to contact police.
