Alert fire units limit blaze to rooftop at Innes Road business

At about 9:20 a.m., firefighters on a truck noticed black smoke coming from the Halo Car Wash on Innes Road between Page Road and Lamarche Avenue, OFS said in a release.

The truck pulled in to investigate and, at 9:23 a.m., a fire was discovered on the roof of the structure.

Firefighters began a fast attack and had the main body of the fire extinguished by 9:29 a.m., OFS said.

After monitoring for possible hotspots, the fire was declared under control by 9:40 p.m.

Crews conducted two searches and no occupants were found inside.

The fire was limited to the roof area, with no damage to the interior of the building.

There are no reported injuries.

An OFS investigator has been dispatched to determine the cause and origin of the fire.
